Busy..

Been busy for these few weeks, mostly about last minute assignments and lab reports. However my mind haven't stop thinking about this blog!

1stly, let me start with a few pictures of some lovely old cars.

This was taken from one of my friend's facebook picture. Look at the 2 lovely continental babies.

On the left, it's a beautiful BMW 3 series, E21, 1st ever bmw 3 series model, which is in production from 1975-1983. Take a good look at it, this is rare man, the signature nostrils of BMW were so small, compared to the huge nostrils in modern BMW cars. Single rounded Head lights shows that this car is either a 1.6L or a 1.8L. I guess this car is imported or something like that, because the plat number is rather new?

On the right, is of course, an Alfa Romeo! If I'm not wrong, this is a GTS, unfortunately, I couldn't find any complete information for this car. It's just enjoying to look at the car though, rounded headlights, with Alfa's signature grille... sweet!

Next, is this BMW 5 series. This the E12, which is similar to the E21 shown above, I mean the design. Only it's bigger, because it's a 5 series. This is also the 1st generation of 5 series, 1972-1981, by looking at the nostrils. Having a 525 batch in front, if you look carefully, if it's real, this will be a 1973 525i - 2.5 L I6. Damn I miss driving a BMW!!

This 2 weeks, I have test driven 2 perodua cars. Perodua Viva manual and Perodua Kancil auto. I have always wanted to test drive a Viva, because I admire the acceleration of the car. Viva is really good at acceleration, it feels light, and effortless to accelerate with it's light weight, and a good 3 cylinder engine, which was used to be fitted in a Kancil. The one I drove was the 850cc version. Overall, the car is easy to drive, clutch is light, gear shifts are effortless, and the feeling is not bad for a city car. The car was not bad to drive, however, I doubt the safety of the car, it feels thin, the doors are thin, and I'm not sure if the door can save the passenger from side impacts. Handling... not good as usual. Best thing is, it doesn't have a power steering, and it is really tiring to park the car... damn!

For the Kancil auto, it doesn't come with power steering too! But this really reminds me of the time we learn how to drive in our driving classes. I wasn't really happy when I know that it's an auto, but it turns out that Kancil Auto is not so bad afterall. I was given a chance to drive from Subang Jaya to Cheras and to Setapak on the peak hour. I mean something like traffic jam all the way on federal highway. At that moment, I was happy to drive an auto, and I'm even happy when the throttle respond of Kancil auto was not so bad. Acceleration was adequate if you press a certain amount of pedal! The car was small enough that you can get into tight spots easily. Overall, it was somehow enjoying.

Let me end the post by showing you this perfect parking by my friend's housemate. Girl's parking... hmmm...

^^! Bye.. got to busy now

Cheap, Ez And DiY

Nowadays everything is getting expensive even those who hope to just have a minor changes to their cars is having a fuss due to the increase in petrol this year.. so everybody !! Save up !!

So a week back.. Me Junyen and Daryl went to giant just to walk around and Daryl wanna buy those hooks to hang things in the car right at the back of the front sits.. We found a few of them and some were just so bloody CHEAP ! 2 hooks and a free pad just for Rm4.00.. Daryl and Junyen chose the colour they wanted but junyen had to take the PINK one cause that's the only one.. hahaha.. Daryl saw those circular lights that can be installed in the car.. and its quite bright too.. Daryl wanna make his car look more LALA said junyen.. hahaha.. Daryl bought one for rm15.00 and we went back home after that..

Do it Yourself we said.. and we installed the light to daryl's car.. At first, it was kinda confusing but what problem we guys can't solve?

There's the old one.. which it didn't give much light to the car though.. so IT must be CHANGED!

Tyre Rotation

Went and did my tyre rotation yesterday. After finding a few tyre shops in Semenyih, finally decided to let the goodyear dealer do it for me. It was located on the busy street of Semenyih beside BHP. He looks honest and did a great job.

Rotation + balancing + allignment = RM30

After doing rotation and balancing, this shows on the screen when he was doing allignment settings. From it, he told me that my front tyres are a little bit toe in... He set both tyres to zero toe, and job done!
Toe in, means both of my front wheels are pointing inwards. Toe out means the tyres are pointing outwards. Toe in usually eats up the outer side of tyres, that explains why my front tyres are 'botak' on the outer part! To have minimum tyre wear and power loss, it is best to have zero toe. However, Toe in usually provides stability on straight line, and toe out usualy improves turn in at a corner.

So great, let's see what happens to my not-so-used-up rear tyres which are now at the front...

Anyway, I'm back to PH!!

Its Going to be FRIDAY !!

What's so special about this friday ? Its just like any other friday.. but this time is different ! Its a HOLIDAY !! A Public Holiday to be exact.. So those college / university boys and girls will be back home and chill ! Like Junyen , Daryl and Alwyn.. CNY days~

Been busy since I came back from Penang, gambling sessions, gatherings, and visitting relatives...

Relative's cute doggy... hyperactive dog... but my mum was scared of dogs, so, they put her on a sofa, which she didn't dare to jump down from the sofa... Look at her toungue!! Cute

Few gambling sessions held in Mok's house, a gathering at Cindy's place, and Jason's place last night. We all had fun, although some may lose money, and some may win, but it was in our own limit.
Outside Jason's house... pimped-up Myvi was the centre of attention...
Led's all over, powerful sound system, 205/40/17 tyres wrapped on expensive limited edition rims ( look at the difference of the front and rear rims.), and the white head lamps, which are switchable to yellow lights.

And there was a beautiful waja with white lights behind the Myvi, Alwyn's Jazz, and my Savvy in the picture, Daryl drove there too, with his recovered Saga lmst. It was a great night, and I reached home 4am, got scolded... and went to sleep immediately after my bath, felt so sick!

Today woke up at 2pm, and didn't feel good too, took another nap at 5pm-8pm... finnally felt better, and now I'm back to Semenyih, time to go back to the healthy lifestyle, and breathe the fresh air of jungle!

Check my tyre after I reached Semenyih... and saw this!
Left front tyre... the thread on the side of the tyre was almost 'botak'
Compare to my right rear tyre, it's almost new! Shocked! This could be dangerous, plan to do a tyre rotation anytime soon.

Time to sleep, good night!

First time to Kuala Kelawang!

Thought there is tutorial class today, mana tau, drive all the way there, my tutor said changed to other day. Tulan.. however, he did give me back my results. and it was average. 60 for maths, 66 for mechanics of solids, and 68 for mid term thermodynamics. Kind of sad, drove for 40 mins there, and got 2 bad news. So, I thought since I'm here already, why not do something before I head home...
Total distance: 114km
Time taken: 1 hour 51 mins.. according to google map.

The whole route was satisfying..

Started from my university, head down to Broga, follow the way to seremban, until it says Kuala Kelawang turn left. Took the left turn and beautiful road started with a steep hill, followed by a wide 4 lanes road which I don't understand, and a beautiful 5 series was following behind me. Continue to follow Kuala Kelawang on the sign board, until I reached the town, then turn left to titi. The road was beautiful after that, I drove all the way until semenyih dam with enjoyment, it was really beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn't take the 'D' road (near the word jelebu on the map)..

Such a fun car to drive on these roads.

Park beside the road immediately once I see the beautiful view of semenyih dam.
It was huge. It's impossible to see the whole dam from just 1 point. It seems endless.
Beauty of nature!
Look at the mountains!
Another picture of my car. Looks weird with the censored plat number. Didn't have time to edit, rushing to gamble ;)
Satisfying drive! And I saw alot of racers there too, in the opposite direction though :)

Will get back there soon!! I wanna get my handphone holder! And get some videos! Anyone know where to buy?

Happy Tiger Year!!

Happy CNY!

Went back to Penang for CNY again. This time, we support the Plus highway 10%+10% discount on tolls. My brother left Johor 7+pm and reached house 11+pm, I woke up from my good sleep, packed our things, and head to Penang after 12am.

It was my first time driving in the middle of the night to Penang, and it was a good experience. Traffic was smooth at night, despite of the number of lorrys on the highway at night. There were so many lorrys stopping at the rest areas, and were on the road too, overtaking them is sometimes scary because of their size. To make a safe overtake, I always observe the driving style of the lorry drivers, make sure they are not sleeping, let them know that I'm overtaking, and make it fast..

Another good thing about night driving is no speed traps. Just drive at your comfortable speed. But always be alert as there are many dangerous racers out there, so always look at your mirrors! Another thing is our high beam, do not be selfish, turn it off when there are other cars opposite, or in front of you.

View of a fishing village in Sg Petani. Belongs to my uncle. Those trees are Hutan Paya, what we learnt in Geography :)
Fisihing boats, and this is the river mouth
My dad's car, and uncle's volvo. Those trolleys are used to bring the anchovies to the oven. Let it dry, then store it in a cold room. Wihout oven, they'll have to put it under the sun until it dries up.
Engine for the fishing boats!
Fish nets... and the floats.
Toilet! When you shit, your shit will fall to the ground, when the tide comes, the fishes will eat them! They love it! Yuks!

Came back home 2 days ago, and look at the jam! Whole journey from penang to PH took 6.5 hours. For the 1st time, I feel my right leg sore in a traffic jam.

Ciao!

What a great weekend!

Night view of Putra heights.

Peaceful saturday night out. Usually, saturday nights, people would go clubbing, drinking, and stuff like that... but, we lifeless bunch, decided to pay a visit to this beautiful park at Putra Avenue. Look at the reflection of street lights on the lake. Perfect view of a lake, and the PH hill was mesmerizing!

1st impression of Alwyn, and his car... with a souped up audio system inside. BOOM BOOM POW!!
Futsal friday night.

It's been a long time since I play late night futsal. This time, it's a fun one. There were total of 3 cars present. 1st car in the picture, Jere's facelifted Myvi, 2nd is what i drive there, Myvi 1st gen, and the 3rd car is Alwyn's Jazz.

What I can say about Myvi is.. it's a great car! It feels confortable, the engine is good, spacious, comfort suspensions, easy to drive, good looking... and good value for money!

The thing I like most about Myvi's are the low end torque of the engine which peaks at 3200 rpm, with 116Nm of torque. It's a good figure compare to Proton Savvy's 105Nm @ 4250 rpm. This makes the Myvi more responsive at low rpm's, and a better feel of acceleration from rest.

Another thing I like about Myvi is the steering, it feels very soft, usual turns and U turns in the city, feels easy with Myvi's steering. It's soft and light, the surface is grippy, which makes you want to just make a U turn with one hand. However, the steering is too soft that it provides less information to you on corners, you can't even feel the grip of the tyre, which makes it scary at high speed corners.

Comfortable ride of Myvi, I believe this is the main reason people buy Myvi. you just feel so small, and slim in a Myvi. Extra size space and headroom makes you feel like dancing in the car :D hands up and dance at the club song on the radio, you can do that in a Myvi. Soft and comfort tuned suspension, this is good in Malaysia where potholes are everywhere, and if you don't like to stop for humps, buy this car. However the soft tuned suspension totally sacrifice the handling ability of the car. Body roll of the car is annoying, even at low speeds. What I recommend is a bigger size rims and lowered suspension, I think this should help the car to corner.

Well, add this all up, and you'll feel easy to drive this car. It's almost effortless, just brake hard before corners, so that you don't scare your girlfriends ;)

Want to win something?

Such a boring Saturday night, facebook is quiet, msn is quiet, handphone is quiet...

Been writting up the contest forms for Shell, and Giant, and finally done. Wonder if you guys wanna take the oppotunity to win great prizes? There's 100k from Shell every week, Proton Saga and Perodua Alza from Giant.

Shell fuel save cash contest
Ends at 7th March 2010, so hurry!

What you have to do is, fill up your tank, and if your receipt is RM30 or more, fill in the contest form and attach the receipt to it. Then wait for Shell to call you. Isn't it easy?

Tips:
1)Try to pump only RM30 not more and not less.
-If your tank can fit RM50, then pump only RM30, save the RM20 for the next time.
2)Get as many receipts as you can, from your family and friends, to increase the probability of winning.
3)If you pay cash, don't be fooled by the cashier as they will only give you the prepay receipt, which is not eligible for the contest. Ask for the receipt after you pump your petrol, and check!

So, pump RM30 and get back RM100,000.. Good luck!

Back!

Yay! finally back to PH!

Today is not a good day tho, I don't know what is happening to me. After fetching Barry, I drove back to subang ktm stattion to fetch Daryl.

I had to pass through LDP, (near IOI Mall) and it was scary, fyi, I had an accident there before, I'm just scared to see brake lights on that road. After entering Sunway toll, jam was everwhere due to 'sembahyang' session.

After fetching Daryl, we decided to eat Pan mee at SS19. Delicious!!

After leaving SS19, on the way home, near the SS19 bridge where it's a down hill from SU, it was very messy on the road. I was driving in the middle lane, and there was a queue on the right lane as usual, a Matrix was in front of me, and suddenly a super slow old iswara change lanes from left into the right lane in front of matrix, that iswara was f'cking slow, and was pressing brake while swerving through in the middle of all the high speed cars from the downhill.

The Matrix has a very good brake, and got to brake, I was behind the Matrix, and my brake is not as good, to avoid accident, I had to take the risk and swerve to the left lane where there was a motor and a kembara right behind me on the left lane. Thank god nothing happened, but it gave all of us a chill, and it was really scary! **

After that, reached home, and took a nap. It wasn't a good nap, I was dreaming about car accidents throughout my nap! Suffering!

I wish everything will be fine! No more accidents please! LOL, ok gtg bye!

MOvie!

It's been a long time since I last watched a movie. Since tomorrow I have no class, so I went for movie with my coursemates. We had to travel down to cheras selatan jusco for cinema. There were total 4 cars with 14 people on this outing, and as usual with so many people, it was 'luan' but it was fun!

We watched Old Dogs, and that movie is damn funny! (if you get the joke)... But it was funny for me! Great movie from John Travolta.

On the road, it was... argh!! Hateful! Not satisfied at all... Don't wanna talk about it!

Craving for a good drive~

k, bye.. tired~

Sunday night

Sunday night is sad, because tomorrow will be Monday... and that means, stop playing, start studying/working! Sien...

My class is starting tomorrow, so as usual, I'm back to semenyih town, and it's boring here!

Today was a fun day though, had brunch with Jere, Julian, Daryl.. PHRC gang... then met Ken, and Kacy, while we were eating. Had a great time. After that, Julian had to go to work at Giant PH, so we went and hang out there abit. Played some Initial D, Daytona... lol

Then it was time to head on to Setapak, for Daryl's 'pindah rumah'. Stuff everyone and everything into his Kembara, then we left PH to Setapak. His Kembara was a crazy beast :) Roaring it's way to Setapak with Daryl's heavy right foot. Thank god, we reached Setapak safely, and settled down. Went for a walk in the beautiful but useless Wangsa Walk, then i drove home his Kembara. It was scary, the rear of the car is like a pendulum, when i hit a pot hole on the road, the rear of the car just swings, like a pendulum, left right left right... it was scary! Then it's the uphill section after Jalan Duta Toll NKVE, NO POWER!!! Fyi, it was a long stretch of uphill highway, and the car just keeps decelerating, I will have to step like 80% of the gas, then only it drop a gear and roar it's way up the hill.. So, after that, I just maintain 90-100 on the highway, and didn't bother to continue on the highway anymore, turned out of the highway, and went home using the Subang way, and thank god again, reached safely..

Well, it was not all bad about the car, it was easy to drive in city road, it's big, and small, get what i mean? People are scared of you when u wanna take their lane, however, it's not hard to move the car... So, don't angry ya daryl, haha..

Ok, so I'm now back in Semenyih, and I'm looking forward to my 1st week of Sem 2! SO guys, wish u have a great week, see you on Friday! Bye...

Boring CNY shopping

What a boring day, I yawn-ed like 300 times today, I hate doing CNY shopping!!

Walked the whole day in Sunway Pyramid, and it was freaking sien.. at last I bought a T-shirt, and that's all... I hope that's all I need, I don't want to do shopping anymore!! Especially CNY is coming soon, it was so pack and noisy!

I saw cars parking along the bridge leading to the indoor parking, I asume it's full pack inside... So, if you are going to have your shopping at Sunway Pyramid on the weekends, just get your car parked at the outdoor parking lots, going into the indoor parking will just waste your time, you'll end up at the roof, and jump down!! jkjk...

Anyway, Happy CNY shopping... EnjoY! Bye..

Rolls Royce finally in Malaysia...

Rolls Royce anyone? Finally, they are officially selling in Malaysia. They are brought in by quill motorcars, sounds familiar? Yes, they'll set up a showroom and service center at the Quill's building in PJ, which shares the same building as Quill's BMW dealership. Look at how beautiful it is, this is the RR Ghost, which is the more 'affortable' RR in the list. It does not matter isn't? It'll still cost a fortune to have that car... But if you would love to store your umbrella at the door of your car, consider this car =D

Rainy Good Morning~

Good Morning PHRC!

Such a bad weather this morning, especially if you have to wake up for work or your classes T.T Well, it was ok for me since I woke up 6am this morning, and the rain can make me sleep even sweeter later! ^^

Had a morning drive down to USJ, and it was refreshing. Planned to catch the sun rise, but the cloudy weather did not agree with me... So, I guess I'll just sit my lazy ass at home!

Good day PH! Don't let the rain cool you down! FIRE UP YOUR ENGINE and have a nice day!

It all started when...

Once upon a time, there was this bunch of lifeless people sleeping on the road...

So, they think they're belong to the road... They were in love with speed, corners, races... But they were too young to drive. So...

:D PHRC started with these bikes!

Remembering the days when we used to cycle around Putra Heights with our trusty bikes were so much fun! Meet-ups, yam-cha, tuitions... race down a slope to see who is faster... have burgers at our favourite burger stall...

Then, things start to get lively as we get our driving license... Doing things we love to do, and living in Putra Heights is a good thing in our life.

Therefore, we all got serious, and PHRC was created! Look at the serious CEO faces of these people who used to sleep on the road!

Look at how beautiful Putra Heights is! And thank you for the wonderful residence in Putra Heights.

Enjoy the sun-set of Putra Heights while we end this post! Bye!

Junyen.

Birth of PHRC

Officially.. PHRC was born!
